On Sundays I reflect.

I had a beer last night and only one. It was a celebratory beer after pulling off the opening of the gallery at Bat Country Studios which we have been working on since May.

I see how much work is ahead, and I’m still so relieved to be where we are.

I’m up early for the Sunday Vail Market.

Special thanks again to the team at the studio for bringing the gallery to life. Yesterday as I walked around the space I reminisced with my parents and some friends who were at the first opening we had back in 2018. It’s unrecognizable.

Paintings on my walls signed 2017 and 2018 feel like a lifetime ago.

I’m listening to the band Why? a lot right now.

Last night I had an idea for a poetic way to write this blog post. Today I’m too tired to remember or execute that.

Thanks to the gallery owners and assistants who came to see our space yesterday. Thanks to the artists. Thanks to the collectors and appreciators. Thanks to my parents and friends.

My apologies to everyone who is waiting on a call or text back from me. I just needed to get through to the other side.

Bat Country Studios is a moment in time. How fortunate we are that have gotten to spend time there creating and collaborating. The space holds a special energy for many of us.

I recently listened to an audio book per my friend’s suggestion. It was called “No Longer Human” by Osamu Dazai.

I also listened to Rick Rubin’s interview with Ari Emanuel.

These essays are the stream of my consciousness. I share as much as I can.

Maybe this week I’ll have the energy to finish my current art project. I’ve shown a few people the components and still have so many to make, but it would feel good to create a proof of concept.

As per usual I’m running out of time again and need to get to town.
