Sunday 5/31/26

May 31, 2026

On Sundays I reflect.

I didn’t drink alcohol this week.

I wonder how many times I’ve written that sentence at this point. It feels good every time.

This week I’m listening to Gem Lingo (ovr now) by Overmono and Ruthven on repeat. It’s a nice trance to be in, like a meditation.

This weekend my friends Gel and Kelle had an opening show at their gallery in Minturn. Due to a last minute spacing issue, I ended up hosting tin type photographer Jeff Hewlett at my studio. Around 20 people came through and got their portraits taken in a style dating back to the 1800’s on a camera from the 1950’s. The show down the street was also well attended and I got to spend some time there seeing the art and my friends and colleagues.

I got on the torch a bit this week making odds and ends for this summer’s market season. It’s always a good feeling to open the kiln and see the previous day’s work.

Today I’m driving. It started at 6am with a trip down to the Denver airport. Now I’m waiting for another client to land so I can drive him back to Vail.

Last night Andrew Pranger invited me to dinner at his friend’s house where we enjoyed authentic South Indian Biryani. It was a lovely evening where I made new friends and learned about a culture I previously had very little knowledge about. We’re already planning a dinner party at the studio.

It’s time for me to get ready for my pickup.

Enjoy your Sunday,

BB
