Sunday 5/3/26

May 03, 2026

On Sundays I reflect.

I didn’t drink alcohol this week. Drinking didn’t even cross my mind. That feels good.

I did some driving this week, and met some interesting new clients whom I can’t really write about. I can say they tipped me with farm fresh eggs from their chickens.

I got on the torch a bit this week, and ran out of oxygen. I got a few things made along with some prep.

It’s quiet here. The off season is in full effect. It’s a part of life here in Vail.

I’m taking the time to catch up on sleep. I’m cleaning the studio. I’m checking things off my list that have been piling up in the background.

In a week Ethan Meyer and the team will beat the studio to begin another residency program. I’ve been friends with Ethan for nearly a decade and throughout that time have been a huge fan of his work. One of his paintings lives in my bedroom on a wall just beside my bed. I live with it every morning and night.

We have plans for a few projects, and we have freedom and time to explore others. We plan to make a few field trips too.

The gallery is coming together now that I’ve been selling some inventory and making more shelf space. Things are not so crowded. Nearly every piece has a price tag.

I want to write more, but I need to head to a friend’s to help him build his house. Mike Page has been an integral part of the studio for years, always helping with projects and being a huge force in converting the gallery space. Today it’s my turn to help Mike, who is building his own house.

Let’s see how an afternoon of manual labor goes up the hill. I can only imagine what I’m in for.

Enjoy your Sunday,

BB
