Sunday 4/19/26

April 19, 2026

On Sundays I reflect.

I didn’t drink alcohol this week. The thought didn’t even cross my mind. I’m grateful for my sobriety.

Ian and I wrapped up our week with an all nighter. We finished the fully worked bubbler body, and next month we’ll finish the hardware. We rarely get to step out of “work” projects but this one was just for fun. It came out so good I think we both want to keep it. It’s hard to explain the feeling of spending three days on a piece that may or may not sell. Art for art’s sake. What a rare privilege.

Since Ian left I’ve been sleeping and driving. Everything is closed here for the off season. Between my naps, I’ve been working on this and that around the studio.

Tomorrow Grace is coming back to help me get caught up for a few days. There will be lots of products finally getting listed on the site that are long overdue. We’ll make fun new content. Things haven’t been the same since Grace moved back to Michigan. We have a lot of work ahead of us, and I’m excited to catch up with my old friend. We traveled the country together producing shows and attending industry events, and we spent most of a few years together at the studio.

In the background, I’ve begun planning a show that will take place in Miami. Our local artists collective has been actively engaging, and for the first time we’re coming together to produce a showcase of our work. Our group is growing in attendance and there is a real momentum here right now. Vail could actually become a destination for artists.

My talk with Jen Stark was finally uploaded and if you were unable to attend you can watch at this link https://vimeo.com/1177392755?fl=pl&fe=sh

Many of you know I’ve been focused on paying off my credit card debt for the last few years. This season I was able to knock off about a third of my total debt. Maybe it was the winter that never was, but I’ve been too busy working to have enjoyed the snow if it had come anyways. I’m feeling proud of this progress, and I know that I’ll keep working until the debt is paid completely.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported and kept the dream alive. Sometimes a side step is a necessity, and I know there is more art ahead.

We’re preparing for another exciting residency with Ethan Meyer from St. Louis in a few weeks. There are some amazing projects on the docket, and I’m sure once we’re all in the studio together even more ideas will come to life.

I’ve wanted to collaborate with Ethan for nearly a decade. This is another dream come true for all of us. We’re going to open portals together which have never been unlocked before. This is truly an auspicious occasion.

Tomorrow is 420. Don’t forget to smoke weed.

Enjoy your Sunday,

BB
