Sunday 4/14/24

April 14, 2024

On Sundays I reflect.

I drank beers on Thursday night and had a few today. Thankfully I kept it to a few both days. It’s challenging trying to find the balance.

We’re still working on the studio expansion and every day is looking better than the last. Our new studio artists Ray, Heather and Remi joined me on our local TV spot Good Morning Vail to share the news about our studio expansion and our new offerings of clay and film. We appreciate the opportunity to share our passion and art with the community.

I spent some of this week prepping for the upcoming Connecticut Cup Collectors Club at Stoked on May 18. I’ll be releasing a handful of collabs at the show as well as a special solo piece I’m working on. Wish me luck, because N8 gave me a few sections to make a cup with and it’s almost ready for assembly.

Thursday night Skinny and the boys took me to Chase & Status at Cervantes in Denver for a heavy night of drum n bass. It was one of the most fun shows I’ve been to and the place was packed. The duo came from the UK and brought an epic set leaving us wondering what they would even have left to play for night two which was added shortly after the first night sold out months ago.

I fuckin love drum n bass music.

Today we went to a little party at the Windows Deck on Vail and celebrated our new shopmate Ray’s birthday. The mountain closes Sunday and I’ll be out of town for closing day so this was my last hoorah of the season.

This week I’ll be flying to New Orleans for one of my oldest friend’s wedding. Joel is marrying Meg and I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate. It’s going to be one for the books with some of my dearest friends.

Then it’s off to Miami to see my family and celebrate Passover at my brother’s. I’ve got a few meetings lined up but I’ll mostly be able to enjoy some family time while I’m there.

After this trip I’ll be fully focused on our upcoming show at Stoked, but I’m glad I’m able to make some time for friends and family before crunch time.

It’s been an interesting week of work and partying and unexpected guests here. Next weekend I’ll see an old friend for the first time in years, and whom I haven’t spoken to in just as long. Sometimes people go different ways, and sometimes they come back around.

Wish I could share more, but it’s time for me to get back to my friends and enjoy the sun. As always thanks for tuning in.
