On Sundays I reflect.
I didn’t drink alcohol this week. I’ve been able to write that sentence more times than I havent over the last decade and that is a good feeling for me.
It feels like I’m living in the car this week, but the money has been great so I’ll take it. I got on the torch for long enough to make two cups this week and one of them already sold. That’s a nice bonus financially, and for my own well being.
This week will be our third monthly art chat at Two Arrows. Andrew Pranger, a phenomenal local painter and I have been cultivating community through this series and we look forward to connecting with the local art scene again this week.
Have you ever driven a race car 100mph? It’s like that feeling when you’re flying off a cliff on a snowboard. We need more snow for that one, but the clear roads have been fun to drive. I’m trying to be an optimist.
My dude Gonzalo Pizarro just announced his first solo show March 27-29 at Chasing Rabbits in Vail in partnership with Artist Replete a Chicago gallery. Gonzo’s work is next level, utilizing negative space and plywood to create masterpieces. He’s a genius and you don’t want to miss this show.
We got some snow this week but need a lot more. It is what it is.
In other exciting news we have locked in another artist residency for May. My good friend and another inspirational artist Ethan Meyer will be coming to the studio to combine his painting and fiber arts with a team of glass artists I am putting together. This series is going to blow your mind. I can’t wait to see what comes together!
I need to get to the grocery store. Who knows when that will happen?
Ian returns next weekend. We’ve got some fun projects ahead of us. If you’ve never melted glass or even if you’re experienced in the medium, consider signing up for our class August 23-28 at Anderson Ranch in Snowmass. The campus is a magical retreat to focus on art, and we’ve already lined up some special guest artists for our workshop. I’ve mentioned that this will be the first ever glass program at the ranch, and next week we’ll be able to focus on preparing our lesson plans and curriculum.
I’m tired and still have work ahead today so I guess it’s time to wrap this up.
As always thanks for tuning in and enjoy your Sunday,
BB
