On Sundays I reflect.
I didn’t drink alcohol this week. The streak continues.
We got new doors and windows at the studio this week. It’s the first time they’ve been replaced since the building was built in 1982 or so. Major upgrade.
I woke up at the studio this morning after a long week working on the last few pieces with Stan for our commission. Today we’ll be installing some work at the condo and assessing what remains to be done.
I’ve been listening to “Fox’s Dream Of The Log Flume” by mewithoutYou this week and explored a bit of the bands other music. Stan’s SoundCloud provided epic working music yesterday and some of the week.
The new window installation forced me to rearrange the studio a bit. I got rid of a shelf by my lathe and still need to do some reconfiguring.
I fucked up some big twisted sections in attempt to create some of the sculptures for our installation. It got frustrating. Stan fucked up a few large floppy bowls, tagging the walls before the flop. I’ve been doing as much prep as I can for Stan to keep cruising and he has been a second set of hands to help me bring some of the larger sculptures to life. We’re challenging ourselves and having fun, but sometimes can certainly be draining.
I wrote a blog last Sunday but didn’t get around to posting it.
It’s November now and I’m wearing long underwear. Vail is set to open in two weeks but we definitely need more snow.
We had a fun Halloween party at the studio. Thanks to our team for making it happen and to everyone who showed up from our community.
I want to keep writing but I need to go unload the kiln and keep working on this project. I can’t wait to share it with you when it’s complete.
As always enjoy your Sunday and thanks for tuning in.
