Sunday 11/12/23

November 12, 2023

On Sundays I reflect.

I didn’t drink alcohol this week. I haven’t had a drink in over a month, since Philadelphia. There have been a few temptations. I’m grateful for my sobriety. It’s better for everyone when I don’t drink.

Vail is officially open and I got a full day in on the hill Friday with my friends. There is only one lift open so kind of a tease, but it felt so good to be outside on my snowboard.

We’re almost done with construction at the studio with only a few small tasks left before completion. The fan is in and has electrical power run to it, the ducting and hood are all built and just need to be installed. Stan’s station should be ready to rock by the time he gets back from Louisiana where he has been helping take care of his parents for the last month. We can’t wait for him to be back.

We had an awesome drop from Bard this week including collabs with Matty B and myself. Both collabs and a solo got scooped but we have a few more of Bard’s solo work on the website here!

We also have a drop this upcoming Thursday from Geoff and Ian the Texas Thicc Boys. This time they used Molten Aura colors as the accents for their Thick Bottom Retti Pints for my favorite batch they’ve ever made. A few buyers are anxiously awaiting the release of these heaters, but everyone is going to have a fair chance when they go live.

In between all of that I have been planning the Miami Cup Collectors Club which is going down on December 6 at Ocisly Ceramics. We’re going to have an incredible release of work, plus live glass blowing and pottery throwing, and Charlie from Soul Clap providing tunes for the evening. Early Bird tickets are available now and prices will go up closer to the event so make sure to lock in your tickets here!

I was able to take a bit of time for myself this week. Almost my entire life is my work, but I needed a little break. A friend helped me to put the phone away and just be for a while. It was much needed. Our schedule keeps expanding and I am doing my best to keep up. Sometimes that requires me to just breathe before returning to my work. I am especially grateful to the friend that helped me accomplish that this week.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Radiohead lately. Other stuff has been in the mix but it’s been a lot of Radiohead lately.

My dude Matty B came over this week to help me prep for my submission that I am working on for the Miami show. I basically have this week to finish my project before Thanksgiving, but I think I know what I’m doing and it’s something I have never done before. I’m excited.

Confidence turns nervousness into excitement. I told my friend Yoni that one time circa 2014 and sometimes I have to remind myself.

I’ll take this opportunity to specially thank my team for helping us get to where we are. We’ve all been growing and evolving together and I’m truly honored to have these amazing people who believe in my vision and want to help me execute that into reality. I couldn’t do this without their support.

Today we have some Sunday Specials for you over on the website!

I will be heading back to the studio shortly for some more dibs deals on the live stream and hopefully getting some work done on construction project as well as my projects on the torch.

As always thanks for tuning in and enjoy your Sunday.
