On Sundays I reflect.
I didn’t drink alcohol this week. There were a few times I almost had a beer. It’s better I didn’t.
We celebrated Red Cliff Stan’s 50th birthday at the studio this week. We were all exhausted but it was nice to get to spend time together and not be in work mode.
We also sold out of Stan’s goblets this week, and he is working on another batch to fill pre-orders. On top of this he has been building inventory for the market, and practicing his lathe skills in order to be able to create our in house line of Drinking Vessels with me.
NüBen is also working to get his chops up on the torch so he can also be a part of the production team. Most recently he layered blue stardust over a solid clear core to make prep for goblet stems and I can proudly say his it was his first real contribution to production.
We’re growing together at the studio. Grace is about to be on another level with content as our client is trading us a much needed iPad Pro. For the last few months all her edits have been done on her phone so I can’t wait to see what she can do with a proper device.
Marta and Eric have been keeping things going in the background and helping us get ready for big projects on the horizon. Next weekend we’ll be blowing glass at the Brew’Au Beer Festival at Nottingham Park in Avon and the following weekend we’ll make the trip to Denver for the Jake C Pints With Friends show at Explore Gallery.
I’ve never been more excited for a show in my life. Jake has spent the last year and a half creating collaborative pints with the top pipe makers in the world. In my opinion this is the most significant release of handmade drinkware that has occurred in our scene - and maybe in the greater glass world.
The other day a friend surprised me with free tickets to the Eagle Block Party. Saturday I got to see Oteil & Friends and then yesterday I made it back in time for Pepper and then Lettuce. It was great to spend a few days outside and away from work. I can’t really remember the last time I did that, especially without leaving town to engage in the travel mindset.
We got a bunch of fresh work in this week and a lot of it already sold! Matty B brought over a batch of stuff and we made a Collab mug with Red Cliff Stan that will be available on today’s live streams. Almost half the cups Matty brought already sold but he’ll be back this week with more.
Goo Roo bottles are selling so fast they might not make it to the website. We are down to our last one or two from this batch and if they don’t sell today they should get listed later this week.
On that note, I need to get to the studio to run our Sunday Specials. Check out a few deals here and tune into our live streams for some steals and deals!
Thanks for tuning in,
