Sunday 5/26/24

May 26, 2024

On Sundays I reflect.

I didn’t drink alcohol this week. I had a few drinks on my trip last weekend. I’ve been too tired and busy to blog since the show at Stoked but today I’m ready to write.

First of all, thank you to the whole team at Stoked, our sponsors ABR Imagery and Boro Batch, Tribus Beer and Rise Coffee, and Helios Hash and Medible Xtracts. Shoutout to our demo artists Holdin Golden, Coyle, Boston Distillery, and Lucas  Clarke. It was a truly special event because of all of you.

Next I would like to thank the collectors and supporters who showed up in person and those who tuned in online. We couldn’t do this without your support.

Lastly, I would like to thank the artists who submitted such incredible work. We are honored to be representing you all.

If you were unable to attend the show you can see what we still have available at StokedCT.com

I flew into NYC and went straight to a second floor Korean restaurant to meet Craig and Jean and their friends. It was past ten o’clock and a bit rainy. We caught up over a delicious meal before walking home for the night.

Eric and Ian flew in the next day and met me at Craig’s for lunch on the grill. I ran a mile that morning and visited the Heller Gallery before they close their iconic Manhattan gallery.

After lunch we took a train to Connecticut where the Stoked crew met us and got us situated. We finally got to see all the cups that were made for the show on the shelves before we set them up in the gallery. I got chills seeing that amount of talent in one place again. There were more than a few pieces I would have liked to add to my personal collection.

We spent the weekend collaborating on the torch and catching up with new and old friends. There was great food along the way, including an entire box of bagels.

It was a challenge not having Grace with us, but Tasha and the Stoked team helped create an awesome recap video of the show. We all missed Grace and hope she’s doing well in Michigan.

After the show we spent one more night in the city and I took the boys to Central Park and we walked around the city a bit. We got some great food and I saw a few old friends.

It felt so good to be back in the city, even if only briefly.

The show was a success and so much fun. Again, thank you to everyone who made it so amazing!

This week has been a lot of catch up back in the mountains. Stan has been working on the walls of the gallery expansion and we’re almost ready to prime and paint. The ceramicists have installed shelving and have a much better space now that their stuff isn’t piled in the middle of the room. The dark room is also almost complete. All of the expansions at the studio have been happening amidst meetings and torch time.

I made a cup this week and a few ash trays. I also spent a few hours making prep and cleaning up scraps into usable parts.

It snowed and hailed here this week. That was unexpected.

This weekend there was a bluegrass festival in Vail and a comedy festival in Vail. Ian stopped by on his drive west and we got in a pendant collab that presold and got to see some music together. I haven’t made it to any of the comedy yet but there is still time today. There are also a few more bluegrass sets.

I have so much more to write about but I also need to make a smoothie and get to town.

As always thanks for tuning in and being a part of the journey. I hope to be able to go a bit deeper in my blog next weekend, once I’m a little bit more caught up around here.

In the meantime, if you want to help support our studio expansion and gallery build out please reach out about ways we need help. Sometimes these projects get bigger in my mind but we always seem to pull it off with teamwork and support.

As always thanks for tuning in,

BB
