Sunday 5/15/22

May 15, 2022

On Sundays I reflect.

I didn’t drink alcohol this week.

I was too tired to write my blog last week. I had two beers last Saturday night when I got home from the Popup in Denver at Purple Haze. The show was a success, and a lot of fun. It was my first time producing a PopUp in Denver and I couldn’t have done it without Chris from Purple Haze along with the rest of their staff. Marta and OLDGREED were also integral in making the show work in every way. Most of the work was inventory that I have had in the mountains that I wanted to share in a more accessible venue. Special shoutout to the artists who made fresh work for this PopUp.

Right now I am working on a new drop with Boots and SALT which will function through the new VIP feature on the GlassGrab app. This will be my second VIP release on the app, and I am excited to include Boots work with SALT this time. There will be solo work from each artist as well as collaborative work. The release will be May 26, but VIP tickets are currently available on the GlassGrab app.

I am simultaneously preparing for the Summer Vail Cup Collectors Club which will be another Mug Mania at Bat Country Studios in Minturn. I got a mug made with Germ when he was visiting and this week Matty B came over to make one with me. Each artist on the lineup will submit one mug for the show, and there will be collaborations from as many of the artists as can get them made together. This show is right around the corner so make sure if you want a VIP ticket you get one before they sell out. GA tickets will be on sale soon for this show as well.

I spent some time this week blowing glass, but I am still behind on the projects I need to complete behind the torch. I am slowly working my way through my checklist of outstanding projects and work. Sometimes I have to side step to stay sane. This week I took a little adventure into working with metal. OLDGREED helped me bend a rod of steel the other day which is part of a series we are working on with my “neighbor” Bob from Red Cliff. This small body of my work will be released at the Summer show, and there is at least one person in line to acquire one.

It’s a rare opportunity that I get to create art uninhibited. Thank you to everyone who has given me the opportunity to do so by supporting my work.

Today I will be running Sunday Specials at the studio. As soon as I hit my sales goal for this week, I’ll get on the torch to keep tackling projects I need to complete. Later this afternoon I have some Spring Cleaning to do too, which I have been putting off for more than a few weeks. Thankfully, I have friends to help me this afternoon

AvantGarde is finishing up a batch of presold slippy cups for me, which means I will be opening the waitlist soon. Make sure to stay tuned on Instagram for information when that happens as spots are extremely limited. These are the most exciting cups of the year in my opinion, and I am thrilled to be working with Dylan to bring them to you.

I got a lot of new cups listed on the website this week, and there are more coming next week (if they don’t sell today when I get to the studio). Catch my on Instagram Live today and checkout my story for Sunday Specials.

As always thanks for tuning in. Sorry this one was brief but I do hope you enjoy your Sundays.
