Sunday 3/10/23
I didn’t drink alcohol this week. I went out last night in the village and had a fruity non alcoholic drink. I thought about having just one beer a few times this week. It’s better that I didn’t.
My 34th birthday is a week away. When I was in my 20’s I didn’t think I would make it this far.
I got to blow glass this week and ride my snowboard through powder. Sometimes it’s hard for me to believe this is real life.
I’m back to work at the driving gig. The pay is great and the work isn’t that bad. As much as I want my freedom, a lot of the pressure in my life is being alleviated with this side job. My boss values my personal needs and our studio. He came to our show a few weeks ago to demonstrate his support.
I’m working on balance, still. I think it’s getting easier. There are still hard days.
After my drive today I think I’ll get back on my snowboard. That’s been feeling good lately, and our time on the hill is limited with the season approaching an end.
This will be my first birthday spent outside of New York in a decade or so. It’s a bittersweet feeling. I’m excited to ride Vail next Sunday with friends from near and far. It’s what I need to do, but somehow it feels like I should be in New York.
We’ve started planning our second annual Connecticut Cup Collectors Club at Stoked which will be on May 18. I’ll spend a night or two in The City that week. I’m really looking forward to that show.
As always I would like to share more but I’m feeling the pressure to get moving and my attention is drifting. This is my last week of my Boro year 33 and I’m going to make sure to pay attention to how I’m feeling and what I want going into 34.
