On Sundays I reflect.
I didn’t drink alcohol this week. It feels good to write that.
Winter is here. We got a foot of snow last night and Vail is covered in a white blanket. Opening day is just over a week away and I can’t wait to get back on my snowboard.
We thought we were going to be able to have the fan installed on the roof yesterday for our new work station but the snow pushed us back. The plan is to have a fully operational station by Thanksgiving and I think we can get it done.
I’ve spent most of this week coordinating details for our Miami Cup Collectors Club coming up on December 6 during Miami Art Week. We will have an artist announcement and tickets available soon so mark your calendars and stay tuned!
I got a little bit of prep done this week on the torch, but mostly my torch time has been spent helping NüBen begin to learn the lathe. Thankfully Giashreddi made it in for a few hours almost every day this week and spent time helping NüBen while I was busy. We’re starting him out with some chillums I use as a training project, with the goal that he will be contributing to prep and production for the line of drinkware we are developing.
Stan has been home in Louisiana taking care of his parents this month and will return soon to get back to production here at the studio. He will also be helping with NüBen’s training when he gets back so we can bring the kid up to speed before he gets distracted with skiing.
We’ve got a bunch of new product online thanks to Grace, who seems to have a never ending pile of photos and videos to edit. Despite the endless work, she is learning new skills and trying things she’s never done before. Marta can often be heard laughing in the background during our brainstorming sessions, and we hope you have been enjoying the content as much as we have.
