I draw most of my inspiration from some of the oldest and time tested techniques of glass design, namely retticello and encalmo. I find that the precision achieved through the attempted perfection of these designs has lasted through the centuries and speaks to many today instinctively. I incorporate color schemes and combinations that fit a contemporary style that can be called “retro” or “mod,” utilizing modern materials available through small batch companies. The use of these time tested techniques and modern color material has helped me to create sets of drinkware where uniformity, precision, and color, as well as being pleasing to the eye, is the goal.
