"I met Andrew on his first day blowing glass. He assisted me in pulling down a vac stack on the lathe, with no experience blowing glass. For reference, this is one of the hottest and more difficult techniques. Instantly, we bonded as we learned to make a production line for Huffy together, and ultimately became roommates in Bloomington, Indiana. Andrew is one of my favorite people to work with, and one of the most talented glass artists I've met." - Ben Belgrad

Started Working With Glass:

"I learned at Volta Glass Studio under Ryan Hoffman. One of my first memories was helping the other artists in the studio on the lathes and being pretty intimidated"

Gina Gaffner is one of the raddest glass artists that I know. Her study in fruits and vegetables is one of the most interesting I've come across in glass. Not only can Gina sculpt any fruit or veggies, she also varies them through different stages in their ripened life cycle. Back when I was traveling, Gina put me up in her guest room for a month when I had nowhere else to go. It was there that we created the notorious Banana Mug, which has since been kidnapped (last seen in Southern Florida, please contact immediately if found!). Nevertheless, she decided to release her new line of solo cups here and I could not be more thrilled!
